McDonald's, poor producer of hamburgers, became an icon for anti globalists.

Microsoft, creator of business software (Solitaire, Windows Media Player ...), became an icon for anti proprietarists.

Microsoft is just a middleman in a food chain:

1. Customer buys a PC, with already installed Windows Solitaire.
2. PC manufacturers takes money from customers
3. Microsoft takes money from PC manufactures in the form of licenses
4. European Union taxes Microsoft in the form of extortionate fines

Linux cannot fully replace Microsoft Windows based food chain. PC manufacturers will lose sales margin, Microsoft will loose and EU will loose, too. Only one, who will gain is customer, but who cares about customers?
